Can I have cleaned my antique dinnerware with gold décor / flower décor in the dishwasher ? The answer is to be no. Décors made from precious metal (especially those from the pre-industrial era) are not suitable for today's dishwashers - a hand-cleaning is here a must-do. Also other décors (e.g. colourful flowers) before 1950 are all "on glaze" and would be damaged (colours fade out) in the dishwasher. Please read here all tips on perfect care for porcelain.
I am a collector of christmas bells / balls etc. Unfortunately one of the older pieces not available any longer has been damaged. Where do I get a replacement ? Annual christmas articles - especially those published under the brand Hutschenreuther - can be ordered through specialised dealers. In Germany those are e.g.:
Kunst & Grafik Sammelteller Ms Christine Blieske Elchpfad 6 D - 21629 Neu Wulmstorf Telephone: +49 040 / 7005150
Ms Margitte Marquardt Hauptstr. 19 D - 21447 Handorf Telephone: +49 4133 / 7585
The cups of my flatware are unglazed at their upper edge. Is this a production flaw ? Absolutely not. Fine porcelain dinnerware goes through the kiln top-side down - especially round body articles like cups, bowls etc. This is the only way to guarantee the even shrinkage and the perfect roundness of the product. This manufacturing principle requires absence of glaze on the upper edges, which will be polished during the end production process.
Where do I find the internet shop from Rosenthal ? Rosenthal AG sells its products through a distributor network with local dealers world-wide and runs no internet b2c business. The Rosenthal Studio-Haus GmbH and other innovative partners run independent online stores resp. plan to do so. Please klick here for more information. |
