By the end of the 1950’s Philip Rosenthal junior, unsatisfied with the situation of classic retail methods, demanded more space and attention for sophisticated living.  When people think of Rosenthal, they think of luxury, quality, art and design.  In the international metropolis Rosenthal porcelain and furniture should be presented in a suitable setting: The idea of Rosenthal Studio-Haus was born.

In 1960 the first Studio Haus was opened in Nuremberg.  Nine years later Rosenthal Studio-Haus GmbH, an independent subsidiary company of Rosenthal was founded with its headquarters in Selb, Germany.  As time progressed, Studio-Haus stores have appeared in the major cities of Europe like Berlin, Brussels, Vienna and Prague.  From the beginning the products offered in the stores were of design-orientated and quality manufacturers which complimented the Rosenthal collection perfectly.
